Homeland sells S. African coal, also expanding into Central App

Homeland Energy Group has signed its first sales contracts for about 500,000 metric tons of thermal coal from its Kendal mine near Witbank, South Africa, with domestic industrial users at more than Rand 700/mt (86 US dollars/mt). Homeland, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, said the one-year term contracts commence delivery from October 1 and are open for renewal in 12 months. Homeland, the Canadian company that went public in March, plans to enter the US coal production scene with the purchase of a small Central Appalachian steam coal producer and its marketing arm for 105 million dollars(PCT 8/28).
