Biomimicry, an emerging field in current research that includes subfields like bionics, bioassistance, and biomimetic architecture, takes inspiration from nature to find solutions to often complex problems. Technically speaking, it's about analyzing the living world and transferring to human activity the remarkable materials, forms, processes, and properties that are observed. In other words, biomimicry can be defined as engineering that builds on the inventions and solutions generated naturally in the environment (ecosystems, ecosys- temic services, etc.).
