A 67-year-old patient with hepatitis C-related liver cirrhosis was found to have a 3 cm focal liver lesion in segment 4 during a routine US examination. Gd-EOB-DTPAenhanced MR imaging was performed for suspected hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The diagnosis was confirmed by the findings of arterial hypervascularity (Fig. 1a) and hypointensity in the hepatobiliary phase (Fig. 1b). After discussing treatment options, it was decided to perform irreversible electroporation (IRE) ablation of the lesion.
