Nova Scotia Power has purchased some coal off a recent request for proposals, utility officials said Friday (PCT 2/10). The Halifax-based utility released a two-part coal solicitation for low-sulfur coal for the remainder of 2011 and for 2012- 2015. NSP was seeking 50,000 to 200,000 metric tons for this year, with deliveries starting in March at the earliest. It also was looking to buy 200,000 mt annually from 2012 through 2015.
