In memory of Professor Aureliano Brandolini one of the most brilliant scholar in agrarian genetics, in particular maize research, of the international scientific community. He was Director General of the Institute from 1983 to 1992. A very gifted andan enthusiast person who studied and worked endlessly and travelled extensively to realize his projects, achieving personal and professionals results that went well beyond national boundaries. In particular, he offered his great skills and expertise to help populations in developing countries, humbly and generously.
