Colombia needs to develop new infrastructure quickly to move coal to export market

During the next seven years, forecasters predict Colombia's coal exports will rise to 152 million tonnes per year. However, due to a lack of ports and roads only 75 percent of the coal will be able to make it to the export market. Mauricio Suarez, the manager of the Port of Santa Marta, thinks it is clear that the country needs to work hard, and quickly, to bring more infrastructure on line. Suarez spoke at the Colombia Mining Conference.
