Study: S.E. power prices to remain low thanks to coal generation

Power prices in the Southeast will remain low thanks to an abundance of coal-fired and other baseload power, a new study concludes. The study, released Nov. 13 by Henwood's Southeast Strategic Advisory Service, examines the potential effects of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Standard Market Design on deregulation issues throughout the southeastern U.S., the company said.
