Judge grants NRDC access to DOE, Bush records

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has ordered the Energy Dept. to grant the Natural Resources Defense Council access to thousands of pages of records concerning DOE's work with the National Energy Policy Development Group, chaired by Vice President Dick Cheney.There is apt to the "some overlap" between this set of records and the documents sought by the General Accounting Office in its recent lawsuit against the White House, said NRDC spokesman Elliott Negin (PCT 2/26). NRDC's Freedom of Information Act request concerned only the policy's group's meetings and work that either Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham or DOE staff participated in.
