Silicone rubber (SR) implants, such as artificial nasal and chin implants have been studies widely [1]. SR has a good elasticity and it is easy to be formed, but to some degree, it can lead to thrombus when it contacts with blood. Hydroxyapatite (HA), its chemical components analogous to vertebrate bones, is used in artificial bones and teeth [2-6]; it has good biocompatibility though it is difficult to shape because of its brittleness. In this paper, we try to improve the blood compatibility of SR by addition of HA, and developed SR/HA composite.
