摘要

SiOC glasses are a novel class of amorphous materials with exceptional high temperature strength, chemical stability and oxidation resistance compared to conventional silica and silicate glasses. The SiOC glasses can easily be prepared by pyrolysis of polysiloxanes at temperatures above 600 °C in inert atmosphere. An amorphous SiOC network forms during pyrolysis of the polymer precursor where SiO4C tetrahedra with n = Q, 1, 2 dominate the network structure. Silicon is bounded via oxygen as well as carbon bridging atoms.
