Hydroxyapatite ceramic (HAp) is a widely used material for bone graft substitutes primarily because of its close resemblance in composition to human bone and its high biocompatibility with surrounding living tissue. Recently, attention has been particularly focused on using porous HAp ceramic, either in block or granular form, for implantation, and satisfactory bone ingrowth has frequently been observed [1-5].
