We determine on the basis of the previously developed techniques for the approximate dynamic analysis of the nonreversing and reversing rotary pneumatic motors the intake and exhaust port areas and the number of the working chambers that provide the maximal torque at any angular velocity in the operating range. This selection of the parameters supplements the design techniques and makes it possible to determine the limiting characteristics of the pneumatic motors with the possibility for regulating the areas of the ports or the restrictors at the intake and at the exhaust. We evaluate the influence of the number of the working chambers, the air intake and exhaust angles, and the other parameters on the limiting characteristics of the pneumatic motors.
