Improvement of the durability of roller bearings and spur gear-wheels

Methods for reducing the load concentration arising due to misalignment and the edge effect and expediting a failure of parts operating in a linear contact are considered. The shape of the roll surfaces ensuring a given pressure distribution is calculated. The calculated results and experimental data certifying the expediency of using the methods for improving the durability (or load-carrying capacity) of the parts are presented
