摘要

The nature and magnitude of genetic divergence for yield and yield components was estimated in 60 genotypes of mothbean (Vigna aconitifolia) grown in Solapur, Maharashtra, India, during the kharif of 2005. Considerable amount of variability was observed among the genotypes for all characters. The D2 statistics exhibited adequate genetic diversity among the genotypes, which were grouped into 14 clusters, of which 3 had one genotype each and 11 consisted of 2-9 genotypes each. No parallelism was observed between geographical diversity and genetic diversity. Harvest index and 100-seed weight had the greatest contribution towards total divergence. Based on inter-cluster distance, cluster means and per se performance, genotypes IC-311412, IC-311436, IC-415103, IC-415116, MBS-4-53, MBS-4-94, MBS-4-99 and MBS-4-103 can be used in hybridization programmes for developing desirable segregants.
