Approach to fail-safe system design with use of the dynamic monitoring principle

We examine an approach to improving the fail-safety of engineering systems that is based on organizing embedded dynamic monitoring in the backup channels. The solution of the problem rests on the use of the model of the dynamic behavior of the system in the dominant motion. We evaluate the capabilities of the proposed monitoring algorithm on a dynamic stand with the use of two series-connected aircraft actuators of the "extensible-rod" type.
