Production of piezoceramic powder by the thermal two-stage process

摘要

The present paper describes the production of leadzirconate titanate (PZT) with different additives and of leadmetaniobate (PN) by means of the Thermal Two-Stage Process.This process, especially developed for the synthesis ofmulticomponent ceramic powders is characterized by thefollowing: the starting constituents are liquid metal organicprecursors, such as alcoholates or acetates, which are converted toa homogeneous, multicomponent ceramic powder by spray dryingthe liquid precursors, resulting in an organic granulate, which isthen followed by the thermal conversion of this organic powderinto the final ceramic material. The resulting ceramic powdershows favourable properties with respect to homogeneity andfurther processing, e.g. pressing and sintering of compacts. Theefficiency of the process will be demonstrated by thecharacteriation of the piezoelectric properties of the sintered compacts.
