摘要

A modeling approach was applied to study elastic properties and volume change in dental composites. Mechanics modeling results were compared with experimental data in model materials of known composition where the filler content was varied. Composite behavior was predicted based on polymer and filler properties in order to improve basic understanding. Model predictions agree well with data. The models were used to discuss effects of resin properties, filler volume fraction and microstructure (particle shape and filler size distribution). (C) 2002 Kluwer Academic Publishers.
