摘要

In the present work the flow of the metal in the radial extrusion of tubular components is analysed.Different strain-hardening behaviours are used in a commercially-available finite-element code,giving remarkably different flow behaviour of the metal. The finite-element simulations are verifiedby metal experiments. The creation of unsound components is explained from the flow behaviour ofthe metal due to an inhomogeneous flow followed by a difference in the strain hardening of differentregions of the component. Based on the results obtained the features in producing sound radialextruded components are reviewed.
