A personal glimpse of the life and works of William Johnson: a researcher of materials processing technology and an engineering educator

摘要

This paper presents a brief review of the life and works of Professor William Johnson FRS, FEng, aresearch scientist, engineer and educator. It would be impractical to review in this short paper thevast amount of scientific and technical works he has produced and hence an attempt is made tointroduce the reader to his works through selected examples only. The author also attempts to givesome glimpses from the personal life of this scholar based on his knowledge during a period of morethan a quarter of a century.
