In the recent years, there are increasing demands forsmall lot production technologies to deal with diversifying needsand rapid forming tool production technologies to survive ingloval competition on the development of new products. The sheetmetal forming technique requires the rapid production ot toolingswhich are essential in the forming process.Many new rapid tooling methods are emerging. These methodsstandardize tooling parts, use materials which are easy to cut byhigh Speed milling processes, build the toolings by the copymethod, and apply rapid prototyping techniques. Also being developed aretechniques which form the sheet metal with the single toolomitting either the punch or die.
