摘要

This paper presents a finite-element model of electric upsetting. It is based on a mixedformulation and provides a simulation of heat generation in conjunction with the coupled thermo-mechanical problem of non-steady-state visco-plastic material flow. The model is applied to thesimulation of electric upsetting of a round bar. Numerical experiments have shown an adequatesensitivity of the model to processing parameter variation and good agreement with the results ofindustrial experiments. The billet has an 'onion' shape and the specific temperature distributionobtained as a result of the simulation can then be used for the subsequent simulation of theconventional forming operation in closed dies that is important for the development of technology andimprovement of product quality.
