The Artur Kupper Corporation can look back on more than 75 years of experience and expertise in the field of belt idlers and has also gained some renown in the noise emission reduction sector. More and more customers ask for low-noise idlers;often even with predefined noise levels. This article presents diverse methods of reducing noise emissions and compares them with one another. In addition to realising better noise levels through improved idler design, it is, for example, also possible to improve the frame's design in particular when it comes to noise propagation. Due to the increasingly more stringent regulations, it is necessary to consider low-noise design when conceiving such a system. When planning a new industrial area, for example, it is often necessary to also create a so-called noise map. This article describes how such a map is created and how the noise level of a conveyor system is calculated.
