Before the global financial crisis chiseled western economies into something eerily similar to a dark episode of "The Twilight Zone," it was relatively easy to be a Colombian coal producer."We knew where to sell our coal," a Colombian coal official said. "The natural market for Colombian coal was, and continues to be, the Atlantic Basin and the Americas. Now we're sitting here looking at Europe and North America and we're wondering if the markets are ever coming back. And if they aren't coming back, where are we going to sell million of tonnes of coal?"
