Boyce thinks next year will be better for U.S. coal producers

Peabody Energy CEO Greg Boyce said he believes next year could be much better for U.S. thermal coal producers, particularly those that depend on the domestic market for sales. "We are very encouraged by the summer burn and the current downward trend in stockpiles, particularly when you look at the stockpile response in the PRB and Illinois Basin markets," Boyce said during the company's second quarter earnings call. "It's something we are watching very closely. We have now started to see customers come back into the market some for this year and some for the out years."
