Major developments involving Colombian metallurgical coal could be in the offing, sources tell Coal Americas. As mentioned previously, Canadian, Chinese and Polish investors are maintaining a big presence in Colombia, touring concessions and meeting with coal producers. "I think we're going to hear some announcements unveiling new coal projects soon," a source said. "The investors have completed their research and they are interested in developing Colombian coking coal deposits. The department of Boyaca is of particular interest to investors."
