While it might seem that the "big guys" in Colombia, Cerrejon and Drummond, capture most of the coal industry's attention, there is a growing legion of small to mid-sized producers that are building reputations and banking on demand in niche markets. "Cerrejon and Drummond are huge power coal suppliers," one Colombian coal official told Coal Americas. "No one can argue with that. However, if you are a cement, ferro alloy or steel producer, you'd better come see me. I am not a big producer, but I can help you."
