Coal exporters in the United States will likely recall the"glory days"of 2008 for a long,long time,but a repeat performance won't be coming again soon,according to Jeff Watkins,the head of Wood Mackenzie's coal consulting team."Our figures show that U.S.coking coal exports to the seaborne market increased by 12 million tons in 2008,while U.S.steam coal exports rose by 9 million tons,"Watkins told those in attendance at the 9th Annual Coaltrans Americas Conference in Miami last week.
