Goalcorp Mining announced that a special committee formed by the board of directors has "initiated a formal investigation into conduct engaged in by certain of the prior executive officers and directors of Coalcorp and in respect of prior transactions involving related parties as well as other transactions with no apparent commercial rationale and contrary to the best interests of the company. The special committee has engaged advisors including forensic experts to assist in the investigation."
