CVRD could construct several new steel mills in Brazil

Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) is studying the possibility of constructing new steel mills in Brazil in partnership with India's Tata Steel and Japan's JFE Holdings.Considering that it takes roughly a tonne and a half of iron ore to make a tonne of steel slabs,building steel plants near CVRD's iron ore mines offers numerous advantages to steelmakers.
