Alpha Natural Resources expects to market 11 to 13 million tonnes of metallurgical coal in 2010, a task that shouldn't pres- ent too much of a challenge for the company. Alpha holds a position in the U.S. coal industry that many of its competitors must certainly envy. The company operates met coal mines in Cen- tral and Northern Appalachia that produce highly sought after premium quality metal- lurgical coal - some of the best produd to be found.
