China issues second batch of met coke export licenses

The Chinese government issued a second batch of met coke export licenses last week, this time covering 2.35 million tonnes of product. Sources tell China Coal Newsletter the export licenses were distributed among 38 exporters. Earlier this year, the government issued licenses covering 9.8 million tonnes to 41 exporters. Thus far in 2007, the government has issued export licenses for 12.15 million tonnes of met coke. It isn't certain if additional licenses will be issued during the fourth quarter. In 2006, China issued export licenses for a total 14.0 million tonnes of met coke.
