Walter Energy to lease Blue Creek reserves from Chevron

Walter Energy will lease 75 million tonnes of Blue Creek coking coal reserves in Alabama from Chevron. The reserves consist of high vol coal, which Walter is expected to blend with production at its No. 7 mine. In addition, Walter will purchase Chevron's North River thermal coal operation with an annual production of about 3.0 million tonnes/year.
