Argentina's steel maker Siderar cited slug gish construction and automotive activity for its US$90 million net loss in the first quarter. The steel producer said net sales during the three month period fell 24 percent to US$368 million. Domestic steel shipments dropped 60 percent during the first quarter compared to the same pe riod in 2008. However, steel exports rose slightly year-on-year.
