During early August, presidential candidates Sens. Baraek Obama and John McCain detailed their respective plans for solving the country's energy crisis. Both plans place a lot of attention on reducing America's independence on foreign oil. When it comes to coal-fired power generation, both candidates have some good ideas that lack substance. They also have some ambitious figures for green house gas emissions, but no viable means of achieving them.
