THE ON-LINE ANALYZER'S POTENTIAL TO IMPROVE MINE AND PREPARATION PLANT EFFICIENCY

Mining companies should install analyzers to improve profitability. Using an analyzer to replace a lab will not have good economics. A mine or prep plant that has access to analyzer data can make real time decisions, which gives the operation a chance to control its destiny. That is how on-line analyzers generate significant profits. On-line analyzers can address several mining and preparation issues: out-of-seam dilution, over washing, and plant operating efficiency and performance. Controlling the amount of out-of-seam dilution has a tremendous economic impact on the entire operation. Analyzers can be used to sort run-of-mine (RoM) coal as well as plant product based on quality. They can also be used to blend plant feed to improve operating efficiency. Analyzers can also be used to monitor refuse ash. With this data, a plant manager can monitor the plant's performance.
