Brazil's crude steel output rises in September

Brazil produced 3.0 million tonnes of crude steel in September, up five percent compared to the same month in 2007. According to the Brazilian Steel Institute (IBS), demand from the civil construction sector continued to drive up the output of long steel products. However, the production of flat steel products declined in September for the seventh consecutive month.
