Flawed analysis of risk factors for coronary heart disease.

Nilsson et al. (1) suggested in their paper on coronary heart disease risk factors that their results 'could be used as a basis for intervention programmes'. We find it important to explain for the readers of this journal in general, and for interventionists in particular, that this assertion is much more uncertain than the authors are aware of; the data analysis includes a series of mistakes, some of which are common and discussed in general textbooks (2).
