Brazil's Alumina do Norte do Brasil (Alunorte) is soliciting bids on up to 2.65 million tonnes of coal. Delivery is scheduled to take place between January 2008 and December 2010. In 2008, Alunorte wants to receive 450,000 tonnes of coal with an option to purchase an additional 300,000 tonnes. In 2009 and 2010, Alunorte plans to purchase 600,000 tonnes of coal each year, with the option of purchasing an additional 350,000 tonnes.
