Rumor mill has ICG being acquired

In the United States, the rumor mill has been running overtime with reports that International Coal Group (ICG) will soon be acquired. ICG has 1.1 billion short tons of proven reserves, of which more than 300 million tons consist of metallurgical coal. Chinese and Indian steel companies are being mentioned as potential buyers as well as U.S. producers, most notably CONSOL, Massey and Arch.
