Cleveland Cliffs and Alpha Natural Resources have approved a definitive merger agreement which spells big news for U.S.met coal production and exports.Cleveland Cliffs will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Alpha Natural Resources in a cash and stock deal valued at US10 billion.The new company that emerges will be called Cliffs Natural Resources-a company with nine iron ore facilities and more than 60 coal mines in North America,South America and Australia.
