Mexico's CFE seeks coal for Carbon II power plant

Mexico's CFE issued a tender for 1.5 million tonnes of coal for the 1,400-megawatt Carbon II power plant. Delivery will take place over a three-year term starting December 1, 2007 and continuing through November 30, 2010. Bids are due November 5. Possible ports for delivery of the coal include Lazaro Cardenas on the Pacific Ocean and Altamira in Tampico on the Atlantic side of the water. In addition, Carbon II can receive rail coal from the U.S.
