Brazil's Grupo Gerdau fares well in the third quarter

Brazilian steel producer Grupo Gerdau posted a third quarter net profit of 1.035 billion reals (595 million US dollars), up 16 percent over the same period last year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) declined 5.1 percent to 1.514 billion reals, due to the rising costs of raw materials, Gerdau said.
