摘要

Primary omental iORSiON (POT) is being recognized with increasing frequency in childhood. Interestingly, its clinical presentation can closely mimic that of acute appendicitis in children or cholecystitis in adults, making an initial diagnosis rather challenging. Recent literature has outlined the role of computed tomography (CT) and ultrasonography (US) in the diagnosis of POT.6-9 However, not adequately recognized is the role of laparoscopy in the management of this rare entity Presented in this paper is the experience of laparoscopy in 2 cases of torsion involving the right corner of the omentum Highlighted are the diagnostic and therapeutic advantages of the laparoscopic technique over the open approach for this condition.
