Universal Coal, a South African coal operator, said its Kangala operation in the Witbank coalfield, which completed its pit reconfiguration project last quarter, has hit a record 1.04 million metric tons (mt) of run-of-mine (ROM) production, a 47% year-over-year increase and was a 35% increase over the previous quarter.
