The studies was made to check the relative trapping efficiency of trap colour in attracting two common fruit fly species, viz. Bactrocera dorsalis and B. zonata, prevalent in the mango orchards of Saharanpur region. For both the species, green coloured traps captured the maximum flies (61.17 ± 2.54 fruit flies/trap/week) followed by orange (46.97 ± 2.40 fruit flies/trap/week). However, red coloured traps were found to be least efficient (27.81 ±2.34 fruit flies/trap/week). The trap colour that wasmost efficient was found similar to the colour of ovipostion host (i.e. green mango fruit) of the flies.
