摘要

Studies on evaluation of interaction of pigeonpea genotypes with Maruca vitrata (Geyer) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) were carried out during kharif 2014. Eleven pigeonpea genotypes, viz. AL 1495, AL 1735, AL 1747, AL1770, AL 1790, ICPL 20340, ICPL 98003,MNI, AL 15, AL201 and PAU 881 were screened for their reaction against M. vitrata under net-house and field conditions. Under net-house condition, number of webs/branch, number and weight of pupae recovered/branch, lower, per cent adult emergence, pod damage, PSRR and per cent reduction in grain yield were signifcantly lower on genotype AL 1747 and higher on MN 1. Similarly, under field conditions, the peak activity period of the pest was observed from 2nd - 4th week of September. Significantly lower number of total webs/plant, per cent pod damage and PSRR were observed in AL 1747 and higher in case of MN 1. Thus, the results indicated that pigeonpea genotype AL 1747 showed resistance against M. vitrata and may be utilized in breeding programme for incorporation of resistance in high yielding background.
