Ten poplar (Populus deltoides) clones were evaluated for their effect on the biological parameters of Clostera restitura (Walker). Larval duration, larval weight gain, larval survival, pupal weight and consumption to faeces ratio were found to be influenced by different clones. The difference in faecal length, head capsule width, pupal period, sex ratio and fecundity of C. restitura fed on different clones were non-significant. Consumption to faeces ratio decreased from third to fifth in star. Mean faecal length and head capsule width increased with increase in age of larvae. Sex ratio was in favour of female. The pupal period and fecundity were maximum during October. On the bases of higher larval duration, less weight gain, less survival, higher pupal weight and higher consumption to faeces ratio clones L-50/88, L-156/ 89 and G-48 were found to be less suitable for the growth of C. restitura.
