Metso's SmartTag - the next generation and beyond

This article is based on a paper that was presented at the 35th APCOM Symposium 2011 in Wollongong, Australia. The SmartTag system has not yet been applied to a coal application, but according to Metso, there are no technical reasons why it could not be applied to track coal the same way it has been used for hard rock in the following case studies. The main objective of the SmartTag is to track ore from the mine through the processing plant and to the final destination, or final consumer. This allows users to optimise the overall production, blending and transportation chain.
