Russian Television Reports: President Putin Visits the Ust-Luga Cola Terminal

After the Russian President landed by helicopter, he got on a bus and made a tour through the port area. For some facilities the President got off the bus to have a closer look at them and to put detailed questions. Putin came to Ust-Luga to gain knowledge about the operation of the coal terminal in the port. The first complex of the terminal was put into operation in December 2001, the second complex in January 2006. Today this is the most modern port complex for coal loading. The coal terminal can handle up to 350 wagons per day, and when reaching the designed capacity, even up to 700 wagons. The operating capacity of the complex amounts to 12 to 15 Mt/y, exceeding the standard levels of western countries.
