During the first four months of this year 17.5 million tonnes of U.S. coal was exported out of Hampton Roads, according to data provided by T. Parker Host. If exports remain at this level throughout the year, 2012 exports would total 52.50 million tonnes, topping last year's total of 42.27 million tonnes.
